Lightweight and easy to handle, our Green Treated Planed and Bevelled Sleepers have been machined to achieve a smooth surface and bevelled edges, ensuring a virtually splinter free sleeper suitable for use in sensitive applications such as parks, children's play areas and schools.
These sleepers are pressure treated with Tanalith E for longevity and increased protection against fungal and insect attack - the treatment is completely safe for children and pets alike. Where cutting, machining, notching and boring has to be carried out, although the timber has been impregnated with Tanalith E, the area of timber revealed by the cross cuts, holes or notches must be liberally brushed with a suitable end grain preservative.
Each sleeper is unique. Being a natural product, there may be colour variations, splits, knots and wanes.
Should you require a completely smooth finish, additional sanding may be required.
